In-house Rapid Prototyping Services

In a continuing effort to better serve our customer base, Pliant Plastics has added Fused Deposition Modeling rapid prototyping to our capabilities list.

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is a rapid prototyping process that produces 3D solid objects out of ABS directly from a CAD model.

Prototype part - fully functional

This process provides a quick and inexpensive way to generate prototype samples.

FDM prototype samples give you the opportunity to:

  • Review your design at every phase of the development process

  • Test it for fit and form
  • Simulate product performance
  • Produce prototype tooling

Prototype parts have 70% of the properties of an injection molded ABS part.

Samples can be made in six colors (natural, red, black, green, blue, and yellow).

10" x 10" x 10" build area

Models can be produced to an accuracy of +/- .005".

Prototypes can typically be delivered in two days or less.

Feel free to visit Pliant to see how this rapid prototyping technology can benefit your program. Call Jason Bishop at (616) 850-2445.
